Bethel’s Family Christian Academy is the vision of Walter August Jr., the Senior Pastor of The Church at Bethel’s Family.
With a heart for children and a calling to make Christ-centered education available to all communities, he champions high academic standards and upholds excellence in every aspect of the Academy.
Alicia Sanchez
Alicia Sanchez has a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Southern University and a Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
She has been in education for over seven years with the Houston Independent School District and Alvin Independent School District. During her educational experience, Alicia has worked in leadership on school campuses and assisted in curriculum writing. Alicia values Christian education and believes in a solid foundation of faith for all children.
Ruby August
As the First Lady of The Church at Bethel’s Family and Co-founder of Bethel’s Family Christian Academy, Ruby August ensures children grow spiritually, mentally, and physically within a safe and nurturing environment.
She is passionate about partnering with parents to promote excellence in learning, character development, and spiritual growth.
Brenda Pye
Brenda Pye is an Operations professional with over 30 years of experience, mainly in the financial services industry. Brenda is from Natchitoches, Louisiana, where she was born and reared. She relocated to Houston soon after high school.
Brenda worked for a Fortune 500 company for almost 20 years, traveling the United States and servicing clients with a focus on the C-Suite and Senior Management.
Brenda won numerous awards for her performance and has been celebrated for her achievements, such as the President’s Award. Through mergers and acquisitions, Brenda started working with smaller businesses, helping them to solidify their business by creating standard operating procedures and improving systems with the latest technology. Brenda has worked in various roles for Bethel’s Family Christian Academy since 2017. She is currently the Director.
Brenda earned a Bachelor of Business in Applied Arts & Science from the University of Houston–Downtown as well as a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources and a Master of Business Administration. She has CDA – Child Development Associate certification and is considering a degree in education.
